præcōn|ĭum, -ĭī. (preˈko.ni.um) neut.

  1. The job of a praeco—a town-crier or auctioneer.
  2. More commonly, the actions of a praeco, namely the advertising or announcing of events and other things of public interest.
  3. Also, fame thus secured, particularly that seen as by the actions of one person.
