o'clock. adv.

1. On or according to the clock.
   • horā

   ¶ Used with an ordinal number, e.g. hora quinta. Note that the Romans counted hours beginning at sunrise, so hora quinta in Roman time would not have been our five o'clock, but somewhere after ten.
